ITALIAN RAFTING FEDERATION
CONVERSION OF FOREIGN QUALIFICATIONS INTO ITALIAN QUALIFICATIONS
The conversion applies in the following cases:
A. State qualification issued by a European Union country with an indication of the corresponding level.
B. Qualification issued by a member State of the World Rafting Federation structured for the issuance of qualifications.
C. Qualification issued by a foreign entity or association, not recognized by the state of origin, structured for the award of qualifications:
- International Rafting Federation
- American Canoe Association
- British Canoeing, etc.
- Member state of the World Rafting Federation unstructured for the award of qualifications.
D. State qualification issued by a European Union country without an indication of the corresponding level.
A) Documents to be submitted:
- Valid copy of the state qualification issued by the Country of origin;
- Training program;
- Valid copy of the identity document or passport;
- Valid copy of the first aid certificate (BLS-D, WFR, or similar).
Recognition:
- Payment of the annual membership fee;
- Participation in an update course on sports regulations and the Italian Rafting Federation (online frontal lesson).
B) Documents to be submitted:
- Copy of the WRF River Guide Card, issued by the National Federation of affiliation in accordance with WRF regulations;
- Copy of the International Mobility Form certified by the National Federation of affiliation;
- Valid copy of the identity document or passport;
- Valid copy of the first aid certificate (BLS-D, WFR, or similar).
Qualification for rivers of 2nd degree:
Recognition by completing the following requirements:
- Payment of the annual membership fee;
- Access to the online training portal;
- Completion of online training and submission of the final project work in Italian;
- Participation in an update course on sports regulations and the Italian Rafting Federation (online frontal lesson).
Qualification for rivers of 3rd or 4th degree:
- Mandatory requirement: Participation in the exam sessions related to the qualification already held (3rd or 4th degree) and passing with a positive outcome.
- Optional: Participation in the entire course related to the level of interest at a reduced price (only for the training part), recommended to deepen federal standards and verify one's level of preparation.
C and D) Documents to be submitted:
- Valid copy of the identity document or passport;
- Copy of the certificate attesting the qualification and the training program carried out with an indication of the level;
- Valid copy of the first aid certificate (BLS-D, WFR, or similar);
- Curriculum vitae (only rafting/hydrospeed/kayak experience);
- Any letters of reference from rafting companies where the applicant has worked, stamped and signed by the legal representative.
Evaluation: The training commission will assess the applicant's training path, determining the methods through which their qualifications will be recognized.
USEFUL INFORMATION
- Payment of the annual membership fee to the Federation of € 90 is compulsory.
- In all the cases mentioned above (A-B-C-D) it is mandatory to attend the online course and present the project work in Italian for the granting of the qualification.
- Courses and exams will be conducted in Italian.
- It is required to be able to give a complete briefing in Italian and correctly use Italian commands during navigation (failure to do so will result in exclusion from practical tests).
- A minimum B1 level of Italian proficiency is recommended.
- If the required documents are not provided or the applicant does not pass the exam/course, the qualification will not be recognized and the person will not be authorized to operate in Italy.
